Mother of the year award

So......I won the Mother of the year award today. I know Congrats to me!!!! I know you all wish you could be just like Connie...NOT!!!!

So I am driving back from our play date this morning, and I remembered I had bought a car wash and couldn't go through it because it was closed that day. I decided I had some time before the girls nap to drive through it. I told Kyla, my 3 1/2 yr old, about the car wash as we were driving to it. (She had never been through one) I told her it was nothing to be scared of, and that it might be alittle loud. She was all excited when we drove up. Of course my little Keira 1 1/2 yrs old was just falling asleep when we drove up. So......I put in my car wash code, and drove in. It was fine at first. I held Kyla's hand through the first part. I thought....wow.....this is going much better than I expected. Then.....

My little Keira woke up and started SCREAMING at the top of her lungs. Oh boy.......Guess who started SCREAMING next???? Oh you're right, it was Miss Kyla. So I'm thinking to myself, WHY DIDN'T YOU LISTEN TO YOUR GUT INSTINCT!!!!!!???? Kyla HATES loud noises.....I'm talking a few too many kids at the playground loud noises. It doesn't take much to set her off.

So....both kids screaming, and nothing I could say or do to get out. (Those things are impossible to escape out of) I guess I could have ruined my car and the LOUD machine to get through it faster......which, YES, it crossed my mind, but I knew my poor children were already scarred for life, so why add fuel to the fire?

Needless to say, once we left the car wash, and for the rest of the way home...I never heard a peep out of them. I think they were still in shock.

So I pull into the garage, and out of nowhere Kyla goes......"Mommy, I love the car wash.....can we do it again?" I just shook my head, and rolled my eyes. Now I'm the speechless one.......................

Heehee.... it is ALWAYS that way with the first car wash. My middle son (almost 4) is always asking "are we going to the car wash?" when we go out for a drive. Now, Kiera might do that again the second time, but after that it's old hat. :)
